Question Some TT fonts bold, italic in Mtext and some won't

I'm running AutoCAD 2005 on Windows XP Professional. When I try to bold or italic text that is in a True Type font I get varying results. Some (Arial) will do bold, italic and underline just fine. Others will not do italic (Tahoma) and even others will not do bold or italic (Microsoft Sans Serif). When using these fonts in other programs, e.g. Word, they bold and italic just fine. Any ideas how to remedy this? As luck would have it, the font our staff just voted to start using for everything is one of the problem ones.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this.

    Hi

Check out the following Technical Document on the Autodesk web site under the Knowledge Base section -

ID: TS53198 - Some True Type fonts do not allow bold font style for multiline text

From the above document it would appear AutoCAD 2005 still has the same issues / problems....

    Have a good one, Mike
