Default Cable Tray schedule with Reference Levels

    Hi folks,
I need to create a schedule of cable trays in a project, no problem, however I need to add a Reference Level to the Field so that I know where the trays are.
Of course this is where the problem lies, I can't add the RL to the schedule.

Anybody have any ideas on what I can do?

The project is well advanced and I don't really want to add a Shared Parameter to the trays and then to have to add the info in myself to all the trays.

    Cheers,

can you use Comments? cut a wireframe elevation thru the entire building, and select a window of each floor at a time, filter out or only show cable trays and fittings per floor and add 1st Floor, etc. in the comments. then sort by Comments, separated with subtotals per floor. haven't tried it, but should work just like sorting per scheduled level, only you have to manually enter which level. you should also see a section of un-commented elements, in case you miss some or add new and forget to set them.

I thought of that, or adding a specific parameter to the cable trays, but I was hoping to avoid having to have to do it manually. Problem lies if I forget to add it to a new tray, it will appear on the schedule without a level but that could be mistaken for a riser.

I may be being dense but can you not just use the Bottom/Top Elevations for the trays or do you specifically need the centre value?

If you do need the Centre you can always use a calculated value to work this out. The formula should be (Bottom Elevation+Top Elevation)/2. Screenshot Below.

That won't give the OP the actual LEVEL they're on, just their offset elevation.

No it wouldn't and I completely misunderstood what he wanted to achieve. My bad.

Does seem a bit ridiculous that it can't be scheduled by level natively.
