Make them 100% You should still see the outlines (beam edges)
I am assuming you are working in a ceiling plan?
I use a filter, I filter for walls > by comment > equals: level 1
I add a comment for each load bearing element I need to see in the level above, then you can adjust hatchings and linetypes in your filter settings.
Add the same text that you have in your filter (obviously) for the walls that do the impact you need to see. So for a ceiling plan of the underside of level 1, I would create a new filter for that plan to show "level 2" walls.
Can be a pain if you have already modelled a lot, if so, open a new 3D view, crop it down to that particular level and hide all elements except walls, select all the walls in your cropped level and just apply to all walls at once - if you have non load bearing, and load bearing walls you may need to do this step in a way that can discern the load bearing or non.
Oh and in addition, other elements will still need to be transparent (I use 40%) to see the elements making impact.
