Default UT122-1: CAD, GIS, ERP, and Web Integration at Ergon Energy

    Instructor: Mark Volz

Class Description: Ergon Energy is a large electrical utility supplying electricity to regional Queensland, Australia. Ergon Energy maintains a network that includes 17,000 km (10,500 miles) of sub-transmission network, 120,000 km (74,500 miles) of high voltage network and over 60,000 km of low voltage network. This case study will discuss how Ergon Energy has integrated its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) with its GIS system (which is being continually updated by information produced in both AutoCAD® and AutoCAD Map 3D with enforced CAD standards), and then displays this information using Autodesk Mapguide® Enterprise and Google Earth™ to increase productivity and decrease restoration times.
