Never seen that one before. Perhaps a silly question, but do you have access to backups? It might save grief.
Yes, I do have access to the saved files. This is not the 1st time. I have gone as far as regenerating the entire floor plan (which is the current state of the file) by drawing over a pdf file that I just happen to have made. The same issue now has found it's way into this new version. I'm curently, was, on backup file #15 and I had to go back as far as #3 in order to get a backup file that will open. I have zero ideas on what to do.
Corruption can come from many different areas but i would look into network issue. Is your file workshared? If so look for latency on your network, that can be a cause for corruption.
The only "networking" that is being done is between my laptop and my external storage drive. This corruption is with only one file, no others are being affected. After it first strated, I had made a PDF file to email to the client. I started a new file and imported the pdf file and recreated it by drawing over it. I have also found a file that would open and tried the Management/ID button, but it couldn't find that ID number.
If you keep opening the file Revit will delete the item.
If you can open a backup then you might be able to track that object and delete it yourself.
