    Default Toggle Infills

Summary: The ability to toggle demolition in-fills on or off.

Description: When we demolish a window or door in a replacement package, Revit automatically in-fills the area with the wall host. Often, we are only replacing the window or door, not in-filling the opening. In order to make this appear correctly graphically, users have to employ various workarounds. Make the in-fill an instance parameter so the infill can be controlled.

Have you tried doing this type of plan using phases? We typically create an existing conditions plan first by setting "Phasing" Parameters to: "Phase filter = Show Previous + New" then set "Phase = Existing". In this plan create all your existing conditions drawings and make sure when you are drawing elements that the Phasing parameters are being constructed as "Phase Create = Existing" and "Phase Demolished=None".

Then Create a Demo plan and set Phasing Parameters to: "Show Previous and Demo" and Phase Parameter to "New Constriction". When you need to demolish an element select the element and change the Phasing parameters to: "Phase Created= Existing" and "Phase Demolished= New Construction" You will notice once you set the phase demolished parameter to New Construction it will show as Demolished in this view.

Then Create a Final or New construction floor plan. Set Phasing Parameter to: "Show Previous and New" and Phase Parameter to "New Constriction". In this plan add all new walls and windows. Make sure any new elements added to this view have the Phasing Parameters set to: "Phase Create = New Construction" and "Phase Demolished = None". If you are simply replacing a window add a new window that was similar to the one in your existing plan and it will show up as a new window. This will give you the ability to have to schedules 1 for existing windows and one for new.

If you do not want to go through the trouble of having to create these 3 views you can always just create an existing window schedule and just add comments to the schedule to remove and replace with a new window.
