    Default Multistory stairs tread/riser numbers

Summary: Add Tread/Riser annotation to multistory stairs

Description: Currently, you are only capable of adding Tread/Riser annotation numbers to the first run of a multistory stair. Such hindrance defeats the purpose of using multistory stairs for the detailing phases of a project.

Also, grouping stairs and copying them in multiple levels does not work either because if you change the starting number for the annotation all numbers in the different levels change as well.

If you are grouping stairs then copying them (or arraying them), you can then just ungroup them and they will then be able to have different properties such as different starting numbers.I agree that the stair numbering is quite limited, though, and there is no way to hide numbers from treads overhead -- Revit shows all numbers for every tread on a flight regardless, which when you get add text to the next flight on the level above you end up with overlapping numbers -- Revit should have a graphic display option to hide overhead numbers as it does for overhead treads/risers/etc.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your reply kirsto.

You are quite right on that one can ungroup stairs to unlock their instance properties independently. The tread annotation tool will then work. However, ungrouping stairs creates additional work if the stair design needs updating. One will need to delete every already annotated stair instance above and redo all work. Far from ideal.

Has there been any solution for this problem yet?
