Default Change connector types within a family?

I'm creating a very simple plenum family, essentially a variable-size box, with variable-size and variable-position duct connectors. It's working fine for exhaust systems, but now I need one for outdoor air intake. How can I make the "System Classification" of a connector variable? I don't see any way to link it to a parameter, and I would really hate to resort to the brute force method of making a separate family for each system type.

Thanks for any help or ideas!

You cannot make the system type, flow direction and a few other settings variable (ie. linking them to parameters). In this case you could make the connector "Global" and in the project environment the family would take on the system type of whatever type duct was connected to it. There are some limitations to this though - for example you can't easily disassociate that instance of the family from the system that was initially tied into it. And if you're using CFM values in this family to propagate through ductwork you won't be able to define the direction of flow since you're trying to use it for both exhaust and intake.

We have duplicates of each family for it's intended system (EA, RA, SA) because of these issues...
