    Question Flow Calculation problem

    Hi all,

I having a wierd issue i can't wrap my head around.

I am atempting to make a collector combine all connected flows and add them to the main connector.
I have already done this for mechanical equipment families, but when attempting this with plumbing fixtures it doensn't work, this is the situation:

My plumbing fixtures have a parameter where i add the flow, this is connected to the connector. this connector is set to preset.
I then draw a pipe form the fixture to the sub connections of the collector, these also have a parameter connected to them and are set to calculated.
Then for the main connection i have a parameter which combines all the other parameters of the sub connections. this one is set to preset again.

    Example

    flow sub-connection 1: 0.1L/s
    flow sub-connection 2: 0.2L/s
    flow sub-connection 3: 0.1L/s

    flow main connection= flow sub-connection 1 + flow sub-connection 2 + flow sub-connection 3 = 0.4L/s

Now this parameter work fine, but when i connect this parameter to the connector and load it in project. It doesn't add the flows up anymore.
When i disconnect the parameter, they add up again.
No mather what i try every time i connect the paramter to the connector it refuses to calculate.

Anyone know what this could be, ive added some pictures that might make this a bit clearer.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi there,

I've just done a quick mock up and if I'm honest I can't replicate the problem you're having. Any chance you can post up your family so I could investigate more, it's difficult to try and figure out why something's not working without the original?

    cheers,

    Toby

I hava actualy figured out what the problem was, apperently you cannot connect 2 connectors with the same flow parameter (which i was doing with the left and right connector).
By splitting the parameter "flow main connection" into 2 parameters with identical formula's and connecting one to a connector and the other to the other connector it works.

Thanks anyways for taking your time to look at my problem!
