Default Scan a network for installed Autodesk appliations

    Hey gang,

There used to be a tool that would allow this. I could scan the whole network and it would spit out a report about which machines had what software/version, etc. installed.

I can no longer find any references to it (well some but they are dead links).

    Does this still exist?

Actually, that did not seem to be it.

Seemed to deal only with updating software on my workstation.

I was looking for the old app that scanned the network and listed each workstation and what Autodesk software was installed on them...

Are you looking for the Autodesk Inventory Advisor?

We use LAN Sweeper here at work for scanning machines software. Very robust tool.

Doesn't LMTools (the licence manager) have such a function? (I don't know, it's just a thought).

OP - you are correct, they used to offer a nice, compact application for doing this, but no more for some reason. The AIA that dkoch is referring to will do the job, but it's ridiculously complex compared to the old tool (And may not even be available unless you are undergoing license compliance)

We have Dell Kace which handles this task, but I would still like to be able to use the old app I bet you're thinking of.....

The tool you are looking for was great once you got it setup. It was called Autodesk Asset Locator. Unfortunately they no longer offer it as a tool (and the old versions do not work on the newer software).

I use LANSweeper (what Steve Bennett suggested) here at work. The downside is it's not cheap, but the upside is that its a GREAT software tool.
