    Default Raster Image Plotting Problem

Image displays just fine in Model space, Paper space and Plot Preview. This issue is when it plots. Any and all devices plot with the same issue. The plot comes out with very pixelated stips of image and strips of missing image. Only the image is missing, all other objects plot just fine. See images.

Out of curiosity, what format is the raster image? If you resave to another format and attach that, do you get the same result?

    Wanderer,
I created a new drawing and inserted the tiff file per opposing corner coordinates and plotted from a viewport with the same view scale as... the original drawing with a .sid file reference (same .tiff file). The plot from the .sid drawing is the problem. The plot from the .tiff drawing is good. Weird?

Thanks for the response. I think you found the root of the issue. We use a .sid file for our aerial ortho drawings. It is the drawing with the .sid files producing the problem. When I made a new drawing and inserted the actual .tiff file to the same coordinates and scale and plotted the same area and scale... the .tiff drawing plot was just fine. I also checked this for archived aerial drawings and the issue is the same.

What I am wondering now is why all of a sudden the change. The .sid files have always plotted just fine. What has happened in C3D suddenly to produce this problem? What setting needs fixed?

I found that it also makes a difference which way I reference the raster image. MAPIINSERT method produces the issue. Connecting with FDO solves the issue. So I guess it isn't the MrSID files but how they are referenced/connected.

Using the Mapiinsert uses a lot of memory where FDO doesn't require as much. If you have the RAM and extra disc space use the Mapioptions command and try to adjust the memory that gets used for images. Read the help file for some tips on it. Understanding swap files helps too.

While I haven't had the plotting problem the Mapinserted SID files have always made working in drawings slow. Got to remember to use FDO from now on.

    Thanks,
