Default The Need for Forced Perspective

    Hello All,

I had the opportunity to talk with many people during the Autodesk University Conference in December. As I conversed with these people in the Architecture field, the idea of forced perspective within Revit was a huge hit!. What I suggested is to provide a setting in Elevations, Sections and 3d Views where you can force visibility graphics according to view depth proximity. For example, any items in the foreground will display normally with heavy outlines. Items in the background will slowly get lighter the further away from the origin they are.

Currently Architectural offices are drawing detail lines over top of elevations, sections or 3d views to provide a forced illusion of depth. It would be a huge improvement for anyone in the architectural field if this could be accomplished. Let me know what your thoughts are in this matter. Do you think the Revit API could manage something like this?

    Thank you,

I believe this became a reality after R2 for 2015.

Not Quite. I think you are referring to the Snap to Parallel command. Correct me if i am wrong. It still doesn't address the issue that all items are represented with the same lineweights. What I am asking for is a way to progressively alter the visual intensity as things get further back in the view.

That was discussed many times before. Unfortunately, Revit cannot do it natively, but there is an add-in for that – View Depth Override by CGS.
