    Default Getting rid of Ldata

I have a bunch of drawings that upon loading show "Restoring Ldata" at the command line. I have no idea where this originated from. This problem has been around for longer than I care to remember - back in the days when we used plain CAD and Map. We now use Civil 3D.

Is there a way to discover what program created (is creating) the Ldata? I suspect an old lisp routine. And finally, how can I "clean" my drawings of this Ldata without risking removing things that are supposed to be there.

    Thanks for any advice!

More information is needed; can you post a sample drawing?

For some reason I am unable to upload a file - any suggestions?

That may be due to how few posts you have at the moment; certain permissions are automagically instated at different times.

I've sent you a PM with my email address.

I sent you a drawing to your email address. Did you receive it?

    Thanks!

Apologies for the delayed response, I've been working 12-18 hours a day on a submittal for the past two weeks straight (even weekends), and 6-day weeks before that.

I did receive your drawing, thank you, and have flagged it to be one of the first things I look into once this submittal is out the door.

    Cheers

Understood completely! Thank you so much! I noticed that another forum user said they weren't being notified when a new response was added to their posting. I am having the same issue. Hope that gets fixed soon.

I did some serious sleuthing and discovered which program was responsible for the dreaded "Restoring LData" message in CAD. I also found a lisp routine that will delete LData. Unfortunately I don't really understand the Lisp routine, and it runs without any prompts whatsoever. I don't know exactly what I am removing nor do I know if it is removing more than it should. I found RemallLdata.lsp at the swamp. The LData is in Civil 3D drawings (and in our template), so I don't want to "break" anything by being over zealous. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

    Thanks!

Does anyone want to take a look at the lisp file attached to the previous message? I just don't know enough about LData and if running the lisp routine is okay to run on our template file. I don't want to remove anything that is supposed to be there. Any help anyone?
    Thanks,

Have you tried making a backup copy of your template(s), and then run the routine, to see if anything breaks?

Who put the suspect LDATA in your template file(s), and who maintains them now?

    Cheers
