    Default Locking Liscenses

I was wondering if there was a way to lock certain CAD license to certain CAD users so that they will always be guaranteed a licensed when they log into CAD.

Basically what I have is 4 IDS (infrastructure design suite licenses) and 8 Civil3D licenses. What I want to do is lock down the 8 Civil3d licenses to specific users and 1 of the IDS licenses. Which will leave 3 floating licensees for anyone else who has CAD on there machine the ability to have CAD access when they need it.

What is the best way to go about doing this. I tried to set up groups on the licensing server but because I have 2 different types of licenses it doesn't seem to understand the concept of what I am trying to do.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

Yes, you can reserve licenses for predefined groups of users or computers.

    It's all documented here: http://knowledge.autodesk.com/search...ions-file.html
