Default Editing Style & standards Library

    Inventor 2015:

I am trying to edit my template for my .dwg file, but the old problem of Read Only keeps appearing. I tried to right click and allow read/write abilities through the project file dialog box, but the option is grayed out for me. Anyone know why? thanksprojectfile.jpg

Is see that your project is a Vault project. Can you change the project settings from Vault? I'm not familiar with Vault, Sorry.

Is your Vault Project IPJ checked out to you?

Conversely and probably a better idea anyway. Just make a Library Administration project with your Read/Write settings and the templates as the workspace.

Im so frustrated. I got it to Read-Write after I checked out my Project file. What I dont get is why all the changes I make to my Dimensions and Note Text text size save fine on my template. When I create a New Drawing and check the Style editor, they are not saved/updated with my changes. I go back to the template and they are there. ugh!

Did you force them into the Style Library? Just changing to Read/Write will never force the changes into the library system. You need to use the Save command on the Manage Tab to enforce those changes.

Also consider that you should NEVER really adjust the default styles...I always rename anything I change so they are easier to migrate the following year to the next release. CompanyDimStyle is easier to track than updates to ANSI-mm Default.

Thanks! How hav eI gone this long without noticing the save command? I was having tunnel vision and assuming the save inside the dialog box was doing it. I do keep a company dim style but the guy who set it up is no longer here, thus this fell on me. Thanks again.
