    Default piping layers

I understand layers and the basics on how they are created. Can someone explain to me how layers for the pre-loaded parts like conduit work. I imagine duct work acts the same. If I select the conduit tool it normally starts a layer with a specific color for a system (I think). How are these manipulated? I have a new drawing I just created and for the first time it is not creating the layer or automatically putting the conduit on that layer. Any ideas? Anyone?

    Default Re: piping layers

I am not certain how the specifics get applied to MEP objects like conduit (I use ACA more than AMEP), but I believe that the layering would be controlled by Layer Keys, as defined in the current Layer Key Style. The current Layer Key Style is specified in the Drawing Setup dialog (AECDWGSETUP command), on the Layering tab. It is possible to set the Layer Key Style to < Current Layer >, which would then place items on the current layer, rather than using Layer Keys.
