Default Insulation Detail Component - Triangular Pattern

Has any one made a rigid insulation detail component with the European style of triangular hatch? Like you see in Detail Magazine? A fill pattern doesn't work because the triangles need to align to the edge of the insulation board.

I could make a repeating detail to do this but I don't think you can get it to truncate in the middle of the pattern; it would stop after a complete triangle and you'd have to draw in the remainder in some locations.

Does the non-U.S. localized versions of Revit offer a system tool for this, sort of like the batt insulation tool?

Got an image of what you're trying to achieve?

I've looked through all my hatch pat files and can't find that zigzag anywhere. Have you ever used Hatch22? I think it's $35 now but it's a guaranteed way to get what you want.

I found one that is close, but not exact. It's triangles. and I went ahead and made a repeating detail, but yeah, you're right, it won't work on every length, shape and size all that well.hatch image.JPGHatchFile.rvt

    Something like this? insulation.JPG
First family will adjust to the length. It will not truncate the end segment, but you need to manually enter the number of segments.
The second one, will not adjust to the length perfectly, but you don’t have to adjust the number of segments.

Thanks. Using Hatch 22 for a custom fill pattern (inside of a line based detail component) worked the best. I wanted it to maintain a 60d/ 120d triangle, so the stretchable thickness wasn't working on the array-based families. The only catch is that you have to have separate filled regions with separate patterns for each thickness, and then turn them off/on with visibility in the family (there's no way to set filled region type to a label, eh?) TriangleInsul.JPG. I'd post the file but it looks like I can only post images.

As long as that file is under 5Mb or something like that. PijPiwo posted that .rvt file, so I'm not sure why it wouldn't let you post the file. You can create a small revit file by starting with no template and after you insert that hatch, purge all, save.

Maybe you tried inserting the file 'in-line" instead of "as-attachment"....?
