    Default Palette Disappear

Whenever I create a new palette it disappears when I close and reopen AutoCAD. I think it has something to do with the AcTpCatalog.atc file but I'm not sure. In the end I'll be sharing the palettes with other users, preferably on a network drive but I'm not sure if that'll be available. How do I keep my palettes from disappearing?

All palette files are in a folder with write access and "All Palettes" are set in AutoCAD.

    Thanks,
    Bernie

Is your pallete location set in your options?

Do you mean that the new tab you make is not visible or that the palette itself is not visible?

The new tab is no longer there when I close and reopen AutoCAD. The other tabs on the palettes are there. Thanks.

Do others who are mapped to this TP location have WRITE access? If so, then last one to close their session "wins" and those "changes" are written to disk.

Make sure YOU are the only one with write access.

Thanks. It's on my laptop that no one else uses and nothing is on (or pointing to) a network drive.

Odd... what's the last save date/time on your .atc file? Is the location that it's in read only? That could explain it too.

Something is either not writing... or re-writing. Re-writing would indicate some kind of start up routine that is kicking out the changes and re-writing with a defined file. Not writing is most likely a permissions issue.

Thanks for the reply. Where should the actpcatalog.atc be located? Do I need a path to that file as well as the path to the palette files?

My catalog file has always been in whatever folder I specified for tool palettes. When it was on the server I kept an autocad support folder with all of the shared tools and autocad files. This was completely separate from working (dwg) files, and only I had access to write to it. I kept the support folder in my support file search paths, and the pallete folder was defined in my tool palettes file locations.

    For example:

    F:\Acad Support
    F:\Acad Support\Tool Palletes
