Default symbolic lines in roof openings don't show on sloped roof

    Hi,

I've tried to create roof skylights, and noticed that symbolic lines only show up when roof is horizontal. Trying to understand this I've created simple opening in roof generic family and added 2 symbolic lines to represent that opening. After placing it in model, symbolic lines only showed on roof without any slope...

Is there a way to force symbolic lines to show up on sloped roofs?

I understand that symbolic lines are visible only on views parallel to views they are created, and guess that's where the problem is... I've tried to create reference plane in the same slope as the roof, but as it turned out, you can not draw symbolic lines on sloped reference planes... I've also tried locking symbolic lines to ref planes but no result... I can get the effect I want using model lines, (3D images are not so 'clean'), but I'm wondering is there a way to do it with symbolic lines?

    Thanks.

Won’t work with symbolic lines. Use model lines instead, with the visibility parameter and turn them off in the views where you don’t need them.

Thank you. Is there a way to control visibility in two different views at the same time? As I understand visibility (yes/no) parameter will turn on or off in all views at the same time?

I've created new subcategory for model lines, and now control visibility per view through Visibility/Graphics Overrides....

You can make yes/no visibility parameter to be ‘instance’ - it will control visibility per object and per view; or ‘type’ – all objects, all views; or adjust ‘visibility settings’ in the family – per view and detail level; or override subcategory in VG – all objects, per view. Detail Level and VG settings you can add to your view template and control display in all views with this particular template applied, all at the same time.
