Default AECDETAILSWELDING in "ACA as ACAD"

    Hello,

I have an office using ACA 2014, but they are running the AutoCAD profile.

I'd like to get the command AECDETAILSWELDING to be available but when I try to run this command with the AutoCAD profile I get:

    Command: AECDETAILSWELDING Unknown Command

If I switch to one of the "AutoCAD Architecture" profiles it works fine.

I feel like I'm missing something simple.

    Any help is appreciated.

None of the AEC ARX modules are loaded when you start ACA with the AutoCAD profile. That is by design, to provide a way to work truly "as AutoCAD", and without introducing any AEC objects (assuming you start from a clean template file).

You could probably set up a profile that has all of the workspace components of AutoCAD (ACAD.cuix, etc.), but which has the AEC ARX files loaded, so that AEC commands are recognized. That assumes that introducing AEC objects is not a deal breaker.

    Thanks David,

Do I need to load them all or is there a specific ARX module that contains the weld commands. I'd like to keep the profile as minimal as I can.

Thanks in advance for your help,

    -JP

I am not certain where the C:AECDETAILSWELDING command is defined. If no one else is able to provide an answer to this, I suppose you could try loading them one by one until you find the one that loads the command.

    That is my plan...

    Thanks much.

I'll post the answer here for reference when I've got it.

Well, it will not allow me to load any of the ARX files in C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2014\ACA

So... there is something I'm missing. I'm giving up for the time being.
