    Default AutoCAD Drafting 101

Everyone seems to have there own way of creating a drawing using there standards.
Is there a manual that details how to layout a Autocad drawing the proper way?
How to show line weights, details, text, sections... etc. AutoCAD Drafting 101

Can't really say there is an exact manual that tells you about AutoCAD layout. But, organizations like AIA, Army Corps of Engineers, and a variety of other groups, all have CAD Standards that meet their requirements for drawings. If you are a CAD manager, you can set up AutoCAD to control how your drafters set up drawings and just draw. Meaning if they make a mistake, it tells them what they did wrong. Hope this helps.

The National CAD Standards, including the Uniform Drawing System sections, are probably the closest you'll find to a non-company based document.

You can also refer to NavFac and National Park Service documents. IIRC Harvard Facilities has some on-line as well.

The nice thing about standards is that there are so many of them.
