    Default Modeling Duration

    Hi there,

    Can any body suggest me how to calculate duration for modeling by revit in all disciplines?

    Timecards?

    Revit doesn't have a built in time tracking ability, and i'm not even sure there is a plug in for something like that.
    If you are using it to keep track of your own time there are plenty of free apps and websites for tracking time on a project. If you are trying to track another employees then probably the same. If its for another company, it's not going to happen, unless they care to share timecard info with you.

    Sorry, Revit isn't built as a project management tool.

    There's is/was an add-on called workload monitor from KKM soft (it's free ware)
    I think that will basically do what you want. I don't use it much by it tracks users "Effective time" spent in a model along with total time, and Idle time.
    It only works per user so you can't see what others are doing.
    CTC was looking at making a tool for something like that a while ago. I'm not sure where that one ended up.

    Basically, you just have to check the time you start to work and the time you stop, at every time it happens. So you subtract the "stop time" from the "start time" of each period and sum them all. In case of you don´t find some plugin or software...
