Default Lighting Fixture Faced Based Famly Symbol

I believe everyone knows about the headache with annotation symbols in a lighting fixture faced based family. My question is in regards to having a filled region symbol. How do you get one to show up? I have gotten to a point were I can finally get the filled region to show up. But, its extremely light and smaller than I need. Any ideas or suggestions? Any easy way to get annotation symbols to show up in lighting fixture faced based families?

    Thanks.

For Power Symbols, I would use the Generic Annotation family template, but for lighting fixtures, I would rather use the detail item family template. Reason being, is that my power symbols need to stay the same size irrespective of the view's scale, but my lighting fixture symbols needs to "scale" up/down with the view scale

I agree with you for the scale factor. But, My major concern is a filled region to show up for emergency lighting. Any lighting fixture that hosts to a wall. Can't for the life of me get the filled region symbol to show up correctly.

You need to draw your filled region in a view parallel to the plane the family appears in plan. So for most ceiling fixtures, the floor plan view is appropriate. However, for wall based fixtures, you're looking at an elevation of the fixture, since the "floor" plan that the fixture is modeled in is actually probably the vertical face of the fixture when installed.

Can't draw filled regions in a lighting fixture, faced based family. At least, not that I see.

You have to draw it in a symbolic detail item family, then nest that family in the fixture family as an annotation symbol.

Correct. You are currently only able to draw masking regions within light fixture families. The best option would be to create a detail item family and nest that into your light fixture family.
