    Question Family parameter in schedule.

    Hello,

I want to use family parameter in schedule of duct fittings.
Is there any way to convert family parameter in to shared parameter?

    Thanks

    Swapnil

You'll have to create a shared parameter of the same name and replace the family parameter with the shared parameter. If the family parameter isn't editable, create a shared parameter with a similar name, use that in your schedule, and set them to equal each other.

Thanks Ben for your suggestion regarding replace family parameter with shared parameter. When I replace Angle family parameter with share parameter in duct fitting(Elbow), it works perfectly for new project/model but if I reload this family in my existing project/model duct fittings( Elbow) are disconnected from system .
is there any solution for this problem?

Yes, redraw your project with the new family. Unfortunately there is no quick fix, when you reload families that have connectors and are connected in a system (pipe fittings in my experience) there is good chance that it will break. Even if it is something as small as changing a text parameter that doesn't affect the geometry or connectors.

We had many projects that we wanted to go back and update the fittings, however some quick testing proved that redrawing it would be the fastest and more reliable way to update fittings (mostly why we don't do it anymore).

Add that shared parameter, call it "Angle - Schedule" and set it to be equal to the angle parameter currently in your project. Load the family, edit the schedule to reflect the "Angle - Schedule" parameter.
