Unhappy Publish command is slow to open in AutoCAD 2016 & AutoCAD 2016 LT

Has anyone noticed that when they use the publish command in Autocad 2016 and AutoCAD 2016LT that they get the spinning wheel and it is slow to open? We have this issue on our HP Z400, Z420 and Z440 machines. I put a trouble ticket in with AutoDesk and it appears that there is an an open development issue that was logged on behalf of another customer experiencing the same issue (Publish command takes >3 minutes in most cases, when in 2015 it worked fine). My case has been linked to the open development case. I am looking forward to installing the fix whenever it arrives.

On the whole I've found ACAD 2016 to be slower than 2013 [last installed upgrade]. I've been getting spinning wheels for autosaves, purges, printing, and sometimes just because. We've gone to solid state drives, i7-3770 processor, 16GB ram, AMD FirePro V4900 Graphics...still runs slow. Prints, if not instantaneous, used to take only a few seconds. Now they take about 45 seconds, and a second plot can not be sent until the first has cleared.

IMO, the vast majority of "slow complaints", at least as it relates to things like file i/o (and with printing, there is a lot of this going on) -- can be traced to AutoCAD looking for something, via the O/S, that isn't there.

If you want to explore this further yourself, you can use the tools and techniques described here to possibly find the culprit(s).

Not sure if this is available to LT, but I've been using the Autopublish mechanism since being introduced back in 2009 - essentially, it produces a PDF/DWF for me at SAVE*, so I literally never need to perform a PUBLISH at all, as I always have a 'current' PDF plan set.
