More information is needed.
Please clarify what you mean by 'create a drawing in memory' - within a Transaction using MdiActiveDocument.Database, or using ReadDwgFile() (aka side-database)?
Display it (the calculated geometry, and resultant entities) how - as transient graphics on-screen for user (think jig, or cursor badge, etc.), or as an actual thumbnail as part of a WPF Window/Form instance?
Cheers

Thanks for the post.
I intend to have a side database, do some modifications in the file, then show that as preview before the drawing is displayed in the active window. However, I now understand that a Thumbnail is created only if a file is opened and save, be it dwg or image. So is there any other option?
Thanks
