Not really sure (never had reason to look into this?) - you might try storing this information in DWGPROPS though, as an alternative.

the *Nix operating systems have a handy utility called 'touch' that will rewrite dates.

Aha - I understand what they meant now.
For that, I've always found this to be of great use; stand-alone executable, with no required installation, and source-code available to modify to suite.
