    Default PROFILE INSERT VISIBILITY

    Hello All
When creating a curtainwall the mullion profile, including the 2D acad insert are visible in the 3D model, plan sections etc. However, if I try to create a family with a sweep and use a profile that I created with a 2D acad insert only the profile is visible in the 3D model not the acad insert. Is there a way to make this visible?

First I'll start by saying why Acad insert. Links OK if used sparingly, Acad Inserts = Evil.
Why not just draw the profile? Isn't going to take you more than 2 min.
If I had to take a guess (since I'm not understanding your post 100%) are you wanting to show a detail component in the sweep of a curtain wall profile so when you cut the curtain wall you get the actual detail component and not the slightly more Generic sweep profile?
If I had to guess it's got something to do with the VG of your insert and where it's visible and where it's not.
Check to make sure it's visible in plan, and also the little check box that says "show only when cut".
If it's visible in plan, it's may not be with in the view range (just thinking out loud) but if you check the little box that says show when cut, it should show up in any cut view. But I could be way off.

    Dave,

My guess is that they are getting errors that lines are to short. The old 1/32" limit. I would also recommend checking the visibility setting in the project, through all of the families. My guess is that somewhere along the way, the CAD's visibility is turned off.

    Cheers,
    Jeff S.
