Its really a shame that the georeference command in vanilla autocad does not place the origin where it really belongs. Maybe they will fix this ins 2017 haha!

I really appreciate all the help. I am really trying to avoid having to using a light pole or transformer etc. as I have in the past and really make the process of coordinating models / drawings more streamlined.
I much rather agree on a known point on the site (XY coordinates) so that when I export my building and site etc. Civil and landscape can just Xref it and do their work.

This is very important on larger campus like project specially when you are dealing with Point clouds and such in as part of a BIM driven project.
I am sure that if I export a cad file in the correct location with the correct coordinates, someone can go out there with a handheld GPS or a GPS enabled Total station and get very close to pin pointing the location of the start of a sidewalk for instance, or corner of a parking lot or building etc.
