Title: Connect Your AutoCAD® Drawings to Databases
Instructor: dave Espinosa-Aguilar
Course Description: For many years, "vanilla" AutoCAD users have mistakenly (but understandably) assumed that AutoCAD Map is a version of AutoCAD made only for GIS-types who do mapping stuff. While AutoCAD Map is an excellent technology for making maps, it is also a version of AutoCAD made for users who don't make maps but need to connect databases with AutoCAD geometry. This class demonstrates, from scratch, how database records are created and linked to AutoCAD drawing geometry, how the built-in Sequential Query Language (SQL) engine works, and how AutoCAD geometry can be queried, analyzed, and reported. It also discusses the benefits of externalizing AutoCAD data and provides powerful reasoning and methods for making your AutoCAD information available to your entire organization.
