Default Archicad IFC to Revit MEP - problems

    Hi all!

I've received an Archicad IFC file from the architect, but the grids, levels and rooms (area), doors are lost. Even the rooms don't have closed boudaries...

Is there any good way to get all the "important" data? (Imporved IFC Import add-in results the same..)

There is a an image, about the "expected" and the "real" plans.
"expected" was made by merging the arcitect's 2D DWG and the exported sheet of Revit.

    thanks, Peter

    Hi Peter
We had some good help with this process from these guys.
    http://www.caduceus.co.nz/#!Converti...5-2FEEF03652F5
As they say in their explaination IFC is a work in progress.
Generally the conversion is a bit disappointing when we want more than a lump of stuff as a placeholder.
The Architects supplying models to us have been at different stages in their modelling development so we have different models states coming through. Sometimes things have dropped out (toilets particularly) in transit. Doors seem to come through without swings showing in plan. Mostly we get reasonable placeholders.
Working in asset management and I think we have a different requirements than for construction models. In the long term we want a revit model with native families for asset and facilities management.
I am working on a tool to automate swapping Revit families in for Archicad elements. Another work in progress.
    Best of luck.
