I keep running into situations, in certain drawings, I believe, where I try to copy mtext and AutoCAD become unresponsive. Is anyone else experiencing/have experienced this? VERY FRUSTRATIN!

What version of AutoCAD are you using?
Any chance that you have a "full" CUIX file loaded as a partial CUIX, in addition to the main CUIX? If you have two (or more) CUIX files loaded that each have contextual ribbon tabs specified for the same action, that can cause AutoCAD to lock up. This was semi-frequently reported by users of AutoCAD Architecture, who wanted to have some of the content from the ACAD.cuix available, and loaded it as a partial CUIX file while leaving the ACA.cuix file as the main customization. Both have a contextual ribbon tab that gets triggered when MText is selected; having both trying to activate locks up AutoCAD.
Is there a way I can check for this? I have customized one CUI to nullify the F1 key. I'm guessing Carlson has a CUIX file that is similar to the ACAD.cuix?
By the way, I have exploded the mtext, and have the same problem
Not sure I have a solution but there are alternative ways of copying. I take it you are issuing the Copy command and having the problem. What about using the clipboard (ctlC, ctrlV) or use grip copy?
What version & flavor of AutoCAD, and what version of Carlson? Full civil package for Carlson, or???
And have you tried the intellicad version of Carlson?
