Default Building pad seems to grey out my floor plans

I put a building pad under my building. Now the floor plan shows grayed out as if the visual style is set to hidden lines even though it's set to shaded with edges.

Incidentally, this does not seem to happen in my other files. In my other files, the floor plans are shown in vivid colors for presentation.

I've tried change my view range to see if that might help but it does not seem to be the problem.

    Any ideas?

See if you have a Color Scheme applied to the view. See if it is turned on it any View Template applied to the view.

See if Color Scheme is set to Foreground or Background.

Try hiding the building pad, and/or making it transparent.
