Hiya

We are currently setting up a brand new project and have to adapt our drawing numbering system, because our client has governed the majority of the drawing numbering system (i.e. in line with PAS documentation) we are left with 6 numbers to uniquely identify our drawings.

I am proposing to use a hybrid of CI/SfB system for the first two digits (i.e. 00 General or 02 Technical GA or 21 External walls or 24 stairs) followed by a drawing number for that 'series'. This separates our drawings up into neat work packages that make our information more structured and easier to navigate.

However, it would be good to try and use the new Uniclass system, version 2015 specifically. Has anyone tried to number drawings using this new system? It looks like the structure is similar to the CI/SfB mentioned above (although the numbers have changed slightly).

  • 15 Preparatory systems
  • 20 Structural systems
  • 25 Wall and barrier systems
  • 30 Roof, floor and Paving systems

If anyone has thought this through and has some experience to share it would be gratefully received.

Take Care

Mike
