    Default publish command

Hi all. I'm really trying to dial this command in because we have all our drawings in separate files and I spend too much time manually printing layouts one at a time.

    One big question I have:

Do you need the files listed in the publish window to be open in order for them to be included in the plot job?
I think I've seen it both ways, where everything listed in the window prints regardless of whether or not the files are all open and also where the layouts are only printed if their file is open in AutoCAD.

Any clarity or shared experience with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Correct.

I've been a fan of the Autopublish mechanism over traditional Publish Command since being released back in 2009 version; I've configured my drawings to use named Page Setup, and a PDF for each Layout is produced at drawing Save, giving you the freedom to choose which PDFs to combine, print, or send out to clients, etc. as needed.

    Cheers

Thanks. I will start using autopublish now that I know about it!
