Default Plotting when the paper space tab has a period in it

    Hello,

I am trying to simply work flow in my company. One thing I am trying to do is create a diesel function to link the paper space tabs to text (specifically the sheet number text) on the drawing.
To keep continuity, we will change the sheet numbers to P1.0 or M2.3, for example. Anytime I plot (Adobe PDF), it cuts off the file name, because I think AutoCAD is recognizing the period as the start of a file extension, which is not the case. The obvious solution to the problem would be to use the Publish feature, but not everyone uses, or is willing to use that feature.
Is there a work around, or a setting that can be changed so that it will plot the full file name?

I may be trying to plot P.3 for Project123. When I plot the PDF, it will read W:\Desktop\Project123 - P.dwg
I would like for it to read W:\Desktop\Project123 - P.3.dwg

I hope that all made sense.

    Thanks in advance.

Have you tried using Sheet Set Manager?

Why not use Mtext with a field for Document→Filename with Path and filename and uncheck Display file extension followed by another field for Other→SystemVariable→ctab.
Add ".dwg" to the end and put " - " between the fields if you like.
