Sections should allow functional adjustment
Summary: Section with Split Segments do not allow proper adjustment, particularly when Gaps in Segments are shown
Description: Section with Split Segments do not allow proper adjustment, particularly when Gaps in Segments are shown. Currently, end points of Sections cannot be moved freely, unlike Sections without Split Segments.
The Section tag lines should be able to be set to a fixed length like dimensions.
Section Boxes should also be able to be sketched in any shape, like AutoCAD's XCLIP tool, to enable easy sectioning through more complex spaces..

Not sure where the issue is here. The same grips are available in split segments as they are in un-split sections. Can you post an image of the intent.

Re: Sections should allow functional adjustment
I can't post an image, as it would not convey the functional problem well. I have uploaded an RVT project, with some sections to explain — the augi uploader is not working for me, so I have used a share site, please let me knwoif you have any problems downloading it: http://www.filedropper.com/sectionexample_1
Section D and F are highlighted in red dashed lines -- as gapped sections, the extent of the section tags/lines are limited to the boundary of the section view, it is quite normal that the section markers be placed well beyond the section. In this case the markers chose to shift diagonally to a random fixed position, which cannot be adjusted, while the other sections without splits are able to be adjusted freely. This a repeatable flaw in the software, and it only affects split sections, gapped lines exacerbate the issue.
Often the problem goes beyond this, where both end of the section marker/line lock their position and cannot be moved at all, once the section is split, in other cases they can only be moved in an inverse direction, turning back on themselves, or the outer end of the tag (bubble) may be moved while the inner line grip fixes it's position inexplicably.
Besides that, of course the section tool is truly wanting, as it is monstrously time-consuming to set the marker positions over many dozens of views across the project — If sections just worked in the elegant way that Grids work (where are 'Reset to Crop' 'Reset to Extents' 'Maximize Extents' for sections), section boxes give a hint of that control but at the same time they screw-up the view depth (if sections share the same section box).

Re: Sections should allow functional adjustment
Okay, I see the issue now but I tried to reproduce the issue by tracing over the suspect sections. I put in the same breaks and adjusted the lines the same and the error did not repeat. I'd probably report this as a bug or look at the possibility of a corrupt view.

Re: Sections should allow functional adjustment
Definitely a repeatable bug -- not restricted to any project or view, as far as I can tell it happens with all views.
Please see linked video for example of some of the issue: https://kristo.tinytake.com/sf/Mzk3OTMzXzIyMTM1OTE
I will report it to Autodesk as you suggest, thanks.
