I have SD model done in Archicad. I s there anyway to import that model to continue the CD phase in Revit? I understand once Archicad or Revit export to dwg all intelligent objects gets dumb. So is there any method to do this so far?
Thanks

No, there is no way to interface between the two programs to maintain the intelligent data.
If you can get a 3D DWG output from ArchiCAD, you could use that in limited fashion in Revit. But if it's only in SD, and you have plans and elevations from AC, I would bring in the plans as 2D DWG, and rebuild the model in Revit. That way you keep the intelligence.
I agree....I've tried importing and yes, you can import a non-parametric model. It's far better to import a 2D converted file (.dxf or .dwg format). However, being from ArchiCAD WATCH OUT FOR INACCURATE DIMENSIONS!!!!!!!Originally Posted by Scott Davis

Will the imported model behave well with the cut plane and view range or should I expect problems with the visibility management. Could I dimension the imported object? Could i create schedules? I am sorry to ask these things but I don have the Archicad model yet to test it.
If Revit was IFC-capable the intelligence could be transfered.
