Question Revolve axis on an adjustable angle

Does anyone have any good tips or videos when creating a revolve that can pivot on a change angle. The application is I am creating a pipe elbow with a mechanically jointed end and the mechanical joint is a revolve and the axis is tied to the arm that can potentially be at different angles such as a 90 degree elbow, 45 degree elbow, etc... The revolve needs to pivot with the arm of the elbow. Every way I have tried to create this I get errors. If anyone has creating something like this already and knows the 'trick' to get it to work please let me know. Thanks.

I think I might have got it working. There is one glitch I can't figure out though. If I change the angle to anything but 90 it works great. But as soon as I change the angle to 90 degrees I can't change it back to any other angle without getting errors. Why does changing the elbow to 90 break it? I have attached my elbow file if anyone cares to take a look and let me know what I am doing wrong. Thanks in advance!

Not sure if this is what you're looking to do, but it's a concept at least.
Start with a revolve. Set the start angle and the end angles to parameters.
Use the face of the start angle as your host for the axis line you want to rotate.
It's a great concept for anytime you want to build knuckles of any kind.
Let me know if you have questions.

I think I may have figured it out. I didn't realize you could change the plane the revolve is referencing to a reference line. As soon as I made this change everything worked the way it was supposed to. Thanks david!

And you can continue to daisy chain those together to get just about any knuckle combination to work. About the only think you can do is Ball Joints. You need to use adaptives hosted on the face of a sphere for that.
    Glad I could help.
