    Default Tool palette item order

    Good morning, all...

I've just completed (well, for now, anyway) a department-wide tool palette. It includes seven palette groups, each with five to seven palettes within them. My problem is that when I got all the tools in place, I then went back and added some header text and line separator between categories in each of them, to make them more readable. I then closed cad, and went to my profiles folder in my users profile, copied out the "profile.aws" file in Civil 3D, and put it in a network drive. Went to another computer, copied that file into the my user profile on it, opened cad, and voila, the tool palettes are there.

But - the text and lines I added last go to the bottom of the palette. Seems there's some kind of draw order attached to tool palette configuration. The palettes look okay as they are, but they would be a lot neater with the improvements I added. Short of going back and redoing each and every palette, does anyone know of a fix for this?

    Thanks,

    Tom

Tool Palette order, when copied to a secondary machine, is first in first out.

You will need to edit your palettes again. If you need to add a header text or separator line some where in the middle, cut each item below these new items one at a time and paste at the bottom of the list. As you cut each item, repeat the placement at the bottom until it reorders as desired.
