Question Auto Cad Export and Required precision

    Dear all Experts,
i am converted my drawing from Foot to meters. after converting their line properties showing like as 12.3333333689 like this.so i am changed my unit settings to decimal (0.00) places. and showing line properties now like a 12.33 only.it is ok. but when exporting other software that line coordinate showing like 12.3333333689. so please help for this issue and suggest suitable procedure to attain like a 12.33 only. i want for basically Staad and other Civil structural softwares.

    Advance thanking you.

UNITS only change what's displayed, not what's really there. If you want it to be 12.3300000000, then you need to draw it to 12.3300000...., not 12.3333333333.

Conversion to meters -- exactly how are you converting?

    Dear sir,

I want exactly roundoff 2 digits only. that is 12.3333333689 to 12.33 or 12.39997888 to 12.40

The UNITS command in AutoCAD only affects what is reported to you, by rounding.

If a measurement is 12.3333333689, then it can be reported to you as 12.3333333689 or 12.333333369 or 12.33333337 or 12.3333334, and so on...down to 12.

As @cadtag said, if you want it to be 12.33, then draw it 12.33000000000000

AutoCAD has no control over how "Staad and other Civil structural softwares" report distances.

Allrighty then - "exactly round-off 2 digits" is not meaningful. Either it's rounded (which the UNITS command will handle via displaying the precision setting) or it's exact, and take to all the decimal places autocad uses internally (64 places IIRC)

Feet to meters: how many places is your dconversion factor using? SI is a decimal system, Imperial ia a integer/fraction system, so there's that. and just to make it fun, Imperial Ft, or US Survey Ft?

Not sure how you're exporting them, but you could put them in a csv file and round columns easy enough. If you're using a lisp modifying it to do the rounding should be easy enough.
