Default Tool palette and annotative text

    Good morning, all...

Okay, so my tool palettes are working great.
Except for one thing, or at least one thing that's been discovered.
I'm using macros to insert mtext from the tool palette. That is, insertion from the palette results from a macro that combines the mtext command along with pre-assigning a specific style, then you just start typing.
I might mention at this juncture that we use all annotative text.
The macro works great, as long as the style is already in the drawing, as it is whenever we start a drawing with our template. However, if we are in a drawing - such as one supplied by a client - that doesn't have that text style, then macro-inserted mtext comes in on style, but it is NOT annotative. I'd assume that has something to do with Autocad OOTB settings.

Anyone have any insight on how I might address this?

    Thanks,

    Tom

What if you dragged in your label styles from Design Center into your drawing? Will that work with the macros?

Sure, works great. The macros work and create annotative text as long as the style resides in the drawing and is annotative. I'm trying to eliminate steps and also guard against screw-ups - like having non-annotative text in a drawing...

Perhaps you'd be better off having the required dependencies imported at drawing open, via AcadDoc?

This can be done in a way that would 'pop' the Database, so you wouldn't be prompted to save changes on Close, as well - for client drawings you just open to label/measure something as a reference check, and then close without saving.

    Cheers
