Default Civil 3d Surface - Building with split levels - How to accurately show in surface for fill

I am trying to accurately show amount of fill for my surface. I have a building that is split level - I need the section to show a definite vertical line between the two different elevations. Right now all I can get is a sloped line between the two. I know what I want but I can't seem to get there. I know some of you more experienced folks out there can help me!

true vertical in a TINN is not possible. The upper feature line needs to be offset from the lower- although than can be a tiny amount. like 0.01 ft
