Default Civil 3D Infill grading and autobalancing

    Hi guys,

I have been asked to create a proposed site plan of a pad and surrounding roads and carpark, also with landscaping. The aim of this exercise is to do a cut and fill analysis and come up with a proposed formation level and balance the site as much as possible.

I have created a feature line of the site boundary, and feature line for the building extents and road/carpark with the necessary falls. I also need to show grading from the sub grade level to the existing surface.

I think the best way is to use infill grading and use the auto balance feature, the main problem that i am having is once that i have battered the feature line for the extents and infilled the other feature lines on the site to create the surface, once i have done the auto balance, it only raises the infill that has the sloped grading connected, leaving the internal infill grading at the same level.

Does anyone have any ideas that could help me out?

    Cheers

    Will

Sounds like something was left out of the selection of the Grading Group. I would make sure that you have selected all of the areas, you might have to click and select the items in the drawing to make sure you got all of them.

    Thanks for the reply,

I have tried too "all in group" and a window around the gradings. it still only picks up the road infill that has the 1:3 grading.

Civil3d gradings leave something to be desired, still haven't got back to the level of LDT grading

Not sure if this will solve the issue but are both grading groups part of the same Site? I wonder if they are on different sites if it will cause and issue.
