Default Create perimeter polyline from multiple selected blocks

    Hi folks,

I've been looking around for a routine that does the following:

    1. Prompts user to selects a group of overlapping blocks (trees in this case, to be precise)
    2. Draws a polyline around the perimeter of that group of blocks (ideally on a specific layer)

See attached image. Blocks in blue. Desired result in white.

BOUNDARY sort of does it but it's clunky and my client does so much of this, I'm trying to cut down on clicks as much as possible.

    Thanks for any guidance!!

idk about #1, but you can use trim command and select all, then it will show you how many items you have selected that could be intersecting. I would continue w/ trim until you have your boundary (you will have to explode your blocks, and set your current layer). Next, bhatch by picking an internal point. Select your hatch, right click, and select "Generate boundary". Erase hatch, and boundary should remain. Keep in mind that your original trim line boundary will still be there. I would move the hatch before creating the boundary, so that you may erase the remaining, junk line work. Just my thoughts. There are many ways to skin A CAD! LOL! Dom

OR... Draw a closed pline, or rectangle around your circles, bhatch internal point between the pline you just drew and the circles, select hatch, right click and generate boundary, then delete outer boundary. Your circle boundary will remain without exploding the blocks! My second post! ~ Dom "There are many ways to skin A CAD!"
