Alligned dimension to side of ducts

Hi all,

could you please tell me how to attach dimension to the side of a rectangular duct, not to its cental line.

Ofcourse first thing that comes to mind is to draw a line - very cad.
Then I found similar thread here:

Someone said there to go into VG, expand ducts in model categories and uncheck drop & rise - didn't work for me either.

Moreover I'm using the same template for all my views and on some of them I can align dimension to a side and on others- no.

I'd be grateful to hear some ideas!

Have you tried hitting the tab key before placing the dimension? Hover near the duct edge and hit the tab key. It should cycle you through the different faces/places you can place dimensions on. I believe it may only work for the aligned dimension type.

I did try, I think the problem is a little bigger.
