Default High level answer for Research

We have a construction project that for a large apartment building consisting of a tower & podium. The tower is mostly typical. The podium is not. The project has been divided into Quadrants. We have decided to create models "By Level and By Quadrant" From Revit to Navisworks.

If our mechanical subs worked in AutoCAD MEP, could they export their models by Level and by Quadrant to NWC/NWD. Or could they only export the entire model. How much of a pain in the butt is this for the mech contractor (Level 1-10)?

    Cheers.

Depending on how good they are it may be a pain. Even if they're good though, it's much easier for them to just do the entire level. I always want my sub's to just do the work and not interfere in their workflow. On one project I had divided the building into quadrants also. But, the Mech, Plumb sub was so good they would just model the entire floor. They didn't like the quadrant approach. This was fine. I would slice up the model in Navisworks to how I wanted to view it anyway. Does that answer help? I hope I understood it correctly.

Exporting from cad based platforms is tough... I've done it but it means that I have to copy specific sections of my base floor model and paste into a separate dwg for export or posting each time updates are needed.
I tend to agree with Hockley use their entire floor model and section your views.

Or they can use Revit like I do (now) and get efficient!
