Ambitious plan to update a Navisworks model

So we have divided our Revit model (Using section boxes) into 40 model exports for Navisworks. We get our source models from consultants. Each time I get a new model, I have to re-create the export views in the new file to export. Super time consuming.

So I had an idea. What if I create a template file with all the saved views, then Link & Bind the new revit models each time we get them. Sounds easy and simple. I only need geometry & meta data for Navisworks. What do I stand to lose if I bind a link into an empty project?

My gut says the answer is nothing. Thought?

Did you find that this worked? From an process standpoint I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't.

Since you can export linked models now into navis without any problems, I'm not sure why you wouldn't try that approach.
But I don't know why you would need to bind it. Just link it and re-export.
I recently did a full building export (9 floors) of all trades into one NWC and just used that to run tests.
Took a while to kick out buy way faster than doing them individually and linking them.
Just a thought.
