    Default Line Based Family Angle

This is my first post on AUGI so sorry in advance:) I'm trying to develop a parametric canopy support family but am having trouble getting the "rod" portion of the family to adjust with my reference line. I've tried this "rod" family as face based, line based, and generic family types (all of which are still in the attachment). It seems to me that the most logical way of conquering this "rod" would be with a nested line based family which would be associated with a reference line (within the host family) that would control the length and angle. I've seen many similar posts to this but nothing that is quite hitting the mark. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

You need to associate the family to the reference line plane. follow the steps in the image I posted to fix the family Untitled.png
