Default Toposurface from DWG 3D Solid

May be I am losing my mind but...

Is there any way to create a toposurface from a 3D solid? It has no points etc and is purely a solid.
I know I could just use the 3D solid linked in as the topo for the model but that's not what I want from it.

I have a Dynamo script that will model fencing (Palisade, Chainlink etc) that will auto follow the toposurface, so wanting to find how can get a toposurface from a 3D solid.

Again may be I am losing my mind and it's blatantly obvious.

    Solved!

Long work around but I have to explode the 3D solid back down to lines only. Then Revit will recognise the points at end of each line for the 'Import from Instance' tool.

If anyone knows an easier way then the help would be greatly appreciated.
